This Privacy Policy aims to explain clearly and transparently how UNPLUGG FRANCE, operator of the Unplugg.fr platform, collects, uses, stores, shares and protects the personal data of people who use its services.

Unplugg.fr is a platform dedicated to searching for, comparing, booking and accessing retreats, themed stays, experiences, transport, transfers, activities and other travel-related services. These services may be offered by organizers, partners, carriers or providers located in France, Europe or other countries around the world.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Unplugg.fr acts as a connection and intermediary platform. Retreats, transport, activities or travel services offered on the platform are provided by the relevant providers, under their own responsibility.

We attach particular importance to the protection of personal data and are committed to processing it fairly, transparently, securely and proportionately, in accordance with applicable data protection regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data controller

The controller of personal data collected in connection with use of Unplugg.fr is:

In this Privacy Policy, the terms “Unplugg.fr”, “we”, “our” or “us” refer to the company operating the platform.

Depending on the service booked, certain providers may also process your data as independent controllers. This may in particular concern retreat organizers, accommodation providers, carriers, local agencies, activity providers, vehicle rental companies, insurers, payment services or other partners necessary for performance of the booked service.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect only the data necessary for the operation of the platform, account management, service bookings, payment processing, site security, customer support and compliance with our legal obligations.

When you create an account, perform a search, make a booking, contact our support or use Unplugg.fr services, we may process data that allows us to identify or contact you, such as your first name, last name, email address, phone number, country of residence, preferred language, postal address where required, as well as your login information. Your password is stored in a secure, encrypted form.

In connection with a booking, we may process information necessary for its performance, including the booked service, destination, dates, times, number of participants or passengers, price, currency, booking status, selected options, applicable cancellation conditions, messages exchanged with the provider and history of changes, cancellations or refunds.

When the booked service concerns a retreat, stay, activity or experience, certain additional information may be useful to the organizer to prepare your welcome properly. This may include, for example, your fitness level, dietary preferences, accessibility needs or particular logistical information. This information should only be provided when necessary for the proper delivery of the relevant service.

When Unplugg.fr allows you to search for, compare, book or access transport services, we may also process information necessary for the relevant journey or trip, such as departure location, arrival location, dates and times, number of passengers, passenger names, chosen options, baggage information, booking references or information required by the carrier or mobility partner.

Payments made via Unplugg.fr are processed by secure payment providers such as Stripe, Klarna and Apple Pay. Unplugg.fr does not store complete bank card details. However, we may receive or process certain transaction-related information, such as the amount paid, currency, payment date, payment status, transaction identifier, partially masked payment method, refund information and data necessary for fraud prevention.

When you communicate with Unplugg.fr, an organizer or a provider via the platform, we may retain the content of exchanges, requests sent to customer support, complaints, responses received and any attachments submitted, to the extent necessary to handle your request, follow up on the booking, ensure platform security or manage a potential dispute.

When you browse Unplugg.fr, certain technical data may be collected automatically, including your IP address, device type, browser, operating system, pages viewed, searches performed, filters used, interactions with the site, connection dates and times, approximate location data and cookie identifiers. This data allows us to ensure the site functions properly, improve the user experience, measure platform performance and strengthen security.

If you use Unplugg.fr as an organizer, partner, carrier, accommodation provider, activity provider or travel service supplier, we may collect data necessary to create and manage your professional area. This data may include your identity, professional contact details, company name, business address, tax information, verification documents, bank details, content of your offers, prices, availability, bookings, exchanges with users, performance statistics and data related to subscriptions or paid features.

3. Why we use your data

We use your personal data to provide, manage, secure and improve the services offered by Unplugg.fr.

Your data is first necessary to allow the platform to function. It allows us to create and manage your account, display available offers, facilitate search and comparison of services, manage bookings, transmit useful information to the relevant providers, send confirmations, manage changes, cancellations and refunds, and give you access to your booking history.

When you book a service offered in another country, certain data may be necessary to allow the local provider to perform the booked service correctly. This may in particular involve transmitting information to an organizer, carrier, local agency or partner located outside your country of residence, in order to manage an international destination, foreign currency, time zone, different language, local obligation or particular situation during the trip.

We also use your data to manage payments, refunds and invoices, confirm transactions, prevent fraud, comply with our accounting and tax obligations, and retain necessary supporting documents.

Your data may also be used to provide customer support, respond to your requests, handle complaints, contact a provider on your behalf, resolve a booking-related issue, follow up on a cancellation or change, or manage a dispute.

We may send you communications necessary for the proper functioning of the service, such as booking confirmations, payment information, important reminders, security messages, information relating to a change or cancellation, customer support responses or administrative communications. These messages are related to the service and do not necessarily constitute marketing communications.

Certain data may be used to improve and personalise the platform, understand site usage, correct technical errors, optimise booking journeys, improve search filters, develop new features, measure user satisfaction or offer more relevant content.

Finally, we process certain data to secure Unplugg.fr, protect user accounts, detect suspicious behaviour, prevent fraud, combat abuse, secure payments and protect users, organizers, partners and providers.

4. Legal bases for processing

We process your personal data only where a legal basis permits.

Processing may be necessary for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures, in particular when you create an account, make a booking, make a payment, contact a provider or use platform features.

Certain processing is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, in particular in accounting, tax, regulatory or judicial matters.

We may also process certain data on the basis of our legitimate interest, in particular to secure the platform, prevent fraud, improve our services, manage disputes, provide customer support or protect our rights.

This includes, where applicable, commercial prospecting to professionals at their professional address, where the message relates to their activity and a simple right to object is offered (see section 9).

Finally, certain processing is based on your consent, in particular for certain cookies, marketing communications or optional features. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data.

Your data may however be transmitted to certain recipients where necessary for the provision of services, management of a booking, operation of the platform or compliance with a legal obligation.

When you book a service via Unplugg.fr, the information necessary for performance of that service may be transmitted to the relevant provider. Depending on the case, this may be a retreat organizer, accommodation provider, local agency, activity provider, carrier, transfer service, vehicle rental company, travel partner, insurer or any other supplier necessary for the booking.

These providers use the data received to provide the booked service, manage your request, communicate with you, comply with their own legal obligations or ensure security of the relevant service.

We may also share certain data with our technical providers, who act in particular for hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, customer support, audience measurement, security, file storage, maintenance or notifications. These providers process data only to the extent necessary to provide their services.

Data necessary for payment, transaction verification, refunds and fraud prevention may be transmitted to our secure payment providers.

Finally, certain data may be disclosed to administrative, tax, judicial or regulatory authorities where required by law, as well as to our professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants, auditors or insurers, where necessary to manage our obligations or defend our rights.

6. International data transfers

Unplugg.fr may offer services located in different countries. As a result, certain data may be transferred or made accessible outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, in particular when you book a retreat, transport, activity or service offered by a provider located abroad.

These transfers may be necessary to allow the local provider to deliver the booked service, manage your booking, comply with rules applicable in the relevant country or respond to a request related to your trip.

Where data is transferred outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, we ensure, where required by regulation, that appropriate safeguards are in place. These safeguards may in particular take the form of standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, supplementary contractual or technical measures, or any other mechanism recognised by applicable regulation.

We limit data transmitted to what is strictly necessary for provision of the relevant service.

7. Retention period

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless a legal obligation requires a longer period or retention is necessary to manage a dispute or defend our rights.

Data relating to your account is retained while your account remains active. Booking data is retained for the period necessary to manage the service, then archived where necessary to comply with our legal obligations. Billing and payment data is retained in accordance with applicable accounting, tax and financial obligations.

Messages exchanged with customer support or with providers may be retained for the period necessary to handle the request, then archived for a limited period where necessary for evidence, security or dispute management.

Data used for marketing purposes is retained until you unsubscribe, object or withdraw your consent where required. Cookies are retained for the period indicated in the cookie management tool or in the applicable cookie policy.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

Unplugg.fr uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure the site functions properly, secure sessions, allow account login, manage bookings, remember certain essential choices and prevent fraud.

We may also use audience measurement cookies to understand how users navigate the platform, which pages are viewed, which searches are performed and how to improve the user experience.

Subject to your consent where required, certain cookies may also be used for personalisation, recommendations, campaign measurement or marketing purposes.

When you visit Unplugg.fr, you may accept, refuse or customise your choices via the cookie banner. You may also change your preferences at any time from the cookies section of this or via the site's cookie management banner.

9. Marketing communications and prospecting

9.1 Communications to individuals (B2C)

Where required by regulation, we send you marketing communications (UNPLUGG offers and news, retreat or experience ideas) only if you have consented, or in the limited cases provided by law (for example certain customers for similar products or services, with information and a right to object).

You may withdraw your consent or object at any time via the unsubscribe link in each email, via communication preferences, or by writing to us at contact@unplugg.fr.

9.2 Prospecting to professionals (B2B)

We may contact professionals (in particular retreat organizers, studios, experience creators, partners) at their professional email address to present services related to their activity (for example an invitation to a platform trial, seller tools, partner programme).

This prospecting is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), in compliance with French rules applicable to business-to-business prospecting (in particular Article L.34-5 of the CPCE). It is limited to contacts for whom the message relates to the recipient’s role or professional activity.

Where contact details were not collected directly from you (for example professional lists or imported B2B files), we inform you at the first contact of the source of the data, the purpose of the message, the legal basis and your rights, in accordance with Article 14 GDPR.

You may object to this prospecting at any time, without giving a reason, via the unsubscribe link, preferences, or contact@unplugg.fr. Any objection is recorded on a lasting basis (suppression list).

9.3 Service messages

Even if you unsubscribe from marketing, we may continue to send messages necessary for the service (account, booking, payment, security, support, administrative information).

10. Reviews, comments and published content

When you publish a review, rating, comment or other content on Unplugg.fr, certain information may be publicly visible, including your first name or username, the content of the review, the rating given, the publication date and the service or destination concerned.

We may moderate, refuse or remove any content that contravenes our terms, publication rules or the law.

11. Bookings for other people

If you make a booking for one or more other people, you confirm that you are authorised to transmit their personal data to Unplugg.fr and to the relevant providers.

You also undertake to inform them of this Privacy Policy and of the use of their data in connection with the booking.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information transmitted concerning other participants or passengers.

12. Sensitive data

Unplugg.fr does not seek to collect sensitive data.

However, certain services, retreats, activities or transport may require particular information, for example regarding accessibility, dietary constraints, fitness level or logistical arrangements.

When you choose to provide this type of information, you should limit your communication to data strictly necessary for provision of the relevant service. Organizers, partners and providers should also limit their requests to information that is genuinely necessary.

13. Data security

We implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, disclosure, destruction or misuse.

These measures may include securing connections, encrypting passwords, limiting internal access, using secure providers, backups, technical monitoring tools, access controls and fraud prevention mechanisms.

No platform can guarantee absolute security. You should also protect your login credentials and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

14. Minors

Unplugg.fr is not intended to be used by minors without the authorisation of a parent or legal representative.

Where a minor participates in a service booked via Unplugg.fr, information concerning them must be provided by a person legally authorised to do so. If we discover that data relating to a minor has been collected without appropriate authorisation, we may take the necessary steps to delete it or obtain the required authorisation.

15. User rights

In accordance with applicable regulation, you have rights over your personal data. You may request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, or object to certain processing.

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before that withdrawal.

You may exercise your rights by contacting us at the following address: contact@unplugg.fr

To protect your data, we may ask you for additional information to verify your identity before responding to your request.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (French data protection authority) if you believe your rights are not being respected.

16. Data of professional organizers, partners and providers

Professional organizers, partners and providers using Unplugg.fr have an area allowing them to publish, manage and track their offers, bookings, availability, communications, payments and performance.

In this context, we process data necessary to create and manage their professional account, verify certain information, display offers, manage prices and availability, process bookings, communicate with travellers, manage payments, provide statistics, offer professional support and comply with our legal obligations.

Certain professional information may be publicly visible on Unplugg.fr, including trade name, activity description, photos, approximate location, published offers, reviews and booking conditions.

Where paid features such as Premium or Premium+ are offered, we may process data necessary to manage the subscription, billing, activation of features, performance analysis, management of internal or external bookings, email configuration, customer relations and improvement of professional tools.

17. Third-party services and external links

Unplugg.fr may contain links to third-party sites or services, including payment providers, carriers, organizers, insurers, mapping services, booking tools or other partners.

These third-party services have their own privacy policies. Unplugg.fr is not responsible for their data protection practices when you use their services directly or leave our platform.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our services, partners, features, technical organisation or applicable regulation.
