Secure payment

Booking a retreat, expedition or activity requires trust. Unplugg works to make payment clearer, more secure and simpler, when online booking is available.

What we want to make clear

Price shown before you confirm

Before you confirm a booking, the known price elements should be displayed: base amount, options, any fees and the applicable total for the offer.

Payment through a secure solution

When online payment is available, it is processed through a secure payment solution. Unplugg does not store complete bank card details directly.

Email confirmation

After a booking or a confirmed payment, you normally receive an email with the essential details of the experience.

Support if something goes wrong

If a payment fails, looks unusual or does not result in a confirmation, you can contact Unplugg with the relevant details.

How does payment work on Unplugg?

  1. Choose your experience

    Select a retreat, expedition or activity, then check the dates, participants, options and available terms.

  2. Check the price

    Review the displayed amount, any fees, the options you selected and the offer terms before confirming.

  3. Pay through the secure flow

    When online payment is available, use only the checkout flow provided by Unplugg or by the integrated payment solution.

  4. Receive a confirmation

    After confirmation, you normally receive an email with the main details of your booking or request.

  5. Prepare for your experience

    Keep your confirmation and check the practical details: location, times, programme, terms, useful contacts and any documents.

Available payment methods

Payment methods may vary by country, offer, payment provider and the options enabled on Unplugg.

Bank card

Available when online payment is enabled.

Pay in instalments

May be introduced gradually depending on the solutions available.

Deposit or partial payment

May depend on the offer and the organizer’s terms.

Only if this is clearly stated in the offer terms.

Never pay a large amount outside the intended checkout flow without clear confirmation from Unplugg or from the organizer identified on the listing.

Off-platform payments

For your safety, be cautious if someone asks you to pay outside the intended checkout flow, by direct transfer, external link, private message or any other method not shown on the listing.

Unplugg may have a limited ability to help if the payment was made outside the intended checkout flow or to an unidentified third party.
Report a suspicious request
  • always check the name of the experience;
  • check the organizer’s name;
  • avoid unsolicited payment links;
  • be wary of artificial urgency;
  • keep proof of payment;
  • contact Unplugg if you are unsure.

Payment declined or payment error

A payment may fail for several reasons: card declined, incomplete bank authentication, limit exceeded, a temporary issue or incorrect information.

Check with your bank

Confirm that your card is authorised for online payments and that the limit is sufficient.

Check your details

Review your contact details, email, the card used and the information you entered.

Do not keep retrying

If several payments fail, wait a few minutes or contact your bank.
